Beautiful!

The decorations really put me in the Christmas spirit. 🙂 Everything was beautiful. The ornaments on the trees, the snowflakes on the cake, red and gold packages decorating each table, the candlelight, friends and family singing Christmas carols to make the couple exchange a kiss. Very unique. A wonderful wedding.
Tracey was a gorgeous bride. Such a sweet girl. All the family and friends were so nice. Weddings like this make my job so enjoyable.
Congratulations to the happy couple … who are honeymooning where the temps are not in the 20’s every day. I’m so jealous!
Added a new holiday banner to my business site. I use Adobe Photoshop CS for all my photo editing and design. For this banner, I chose eraser and used one of the brushes to make the rough border and the “peace” brush is from Rhonna Farrer’s digital kit available here.
Photoshop is a lot of fun. You just have to play around and see what you can do with it.
Have fun Christmas shopping.
Alycia and CJ decided to get all of the pictures out of the way before the ceremony so they set up a moment for him to see her for the first time. The room was cleared so they could be alone. I stood in the back, zoomed in and caught the first moment he turned and saw her walking down. It was so sweet. I’m all for tradition, but I think this is a nice way to do it, too.

Thinking about the many men and women who can’t be with their families this year during the holidays because they are fighting for freedom in another land. Prayers for all of those families!!!
it can be challenging, but I like catching the kids as they are … being kids.

This family was so very nice. The kids were just adorable. We were able to get this nice family picture. It was one of the first we took, which is probably why the kids were a little more cooperative. 🙂

Had so much fun taking pictures of my friend Julie’s baby. He was only five days old. So precious. You quickly forget how small babies are when they first arrive. They just grow so fast. So it was great to be able to capture pictures of him in those first days.
They have a living room with lots of windows so I laid black fabric over a chair in the corner and propped him up there. The lighting was so great. I snapped a bunch of shots before he got fussy. Got a few of him and mommy, too.

I don’t do a lot of indoor shoots because I work mostly in a candid style and don’t own or want a lot of fancy lighting equipment. That’s just not who I am or how I want to work. But give me a room with great light and I can get some nice natural looking shots.
Julie really liked the pictures I got while I was there. That’s all that matters to me. 🙂

Made this cute Christmas card for a family whose pictures I took in September.

Such a cute family and so nice. I had a great time taking their pictures. Lots of laughter. They are fun people. The girls were the cutest. The oldest was posing so much, she looked like a mannequin and we were cracking up at her. Her Dad tickled her at one point and I got a really nice picture of her – the real her. I could see that “picture smile” disappear if only for a moment and I snapped away. The image on the left is her posed smile and on the right is just as her dad was tickling her.

I love both pictures. They are equally good. You can just see the difference and I love that. I love that I get to capture real moments. 🙂

A fairy tale wedding. The best way to describe it. Art was like a prince arriving at the ceremony on horseback. A processional of flags led the way with the little boys ringing bells and announcing "The bride is coming." And like a princess, Jill rode up in a horsedrawn carriage. It was a beautiful wedding.
This shot was tricky. They released doves and I set my camera to shoot multiple frames so I wouldn’t miss it. The sun was also starting to set and it was pretty bright, but I really like how I got a bit of the sun flare from that.
The bride and groom rode away in their carriage with guests showering them with rose petals …
… and they lived happily ever after.

I first met Alycia and CJ when I did their engagement pictures at the beach at Grand Haven. They were such nice people and I could tell they were really in love. This picture, taken near the end of the reception, is one of my favorites. They are totally into each other, the rest of the world has just faded away and they are everything in that moment. I love it! 🙂
