What a beautiful fall weekend it was! I took a drive to the east side of the state on Saturday afternoon for an intimate wedding at Depot Park in Clarkston. It was such a nice spot for a wedding. The weather was perfect, the bride and groom looked great, and their close family and friends stood in a circle around the inside of the gazebo to witness their vows. It was lovely. I knew from talking to Becky on the phone and emailing for the past couple months that she would be so nice in person and I was right. She is so sweet and she and Dan are so sweet together. Their kids were all in the wedding and were the cutest kids ever (except for my own, of course). 🙂 Here are a few (OK … more than a few) of my favorites from the day:

Congratulations, Becky and Dan! It was so wonderful to spend the evening with you and your family. Give the kids hugs for me. They are so cute!!! 🙂

yes, the song loops. I didn’t have a full version of this song, but it goes so perfectly with Lesley and Anthony’s engagement session that I HAD to use the clip anyway.

christmas cards

With the cooler weather this past week, it’s finally feeling like fall in Michigan, which is getting me excited for the upcoming holidays. If you would like your prints in time for Christmas, please order no later than November 16th. I also offer custom designed cards. Here are a few designs I’ve come up with for this year. We can do them in a 5×7 folded greeting card style or long 4×8 prints. Card orders also need to be ordered by Nov. 16. Please contact me asap for more information.

The weather for today’s engagement session was the complete opposite of last night’s. It was rainy and dreary and we got soaked, but Lesley and Anthony were so awesome to wander around through the rain with me. And we got some awesome pictures!! It was so great meeting them and Lesley’s family (we did some family pictures, too). A very fun day!! Here are a few favorites:

Who would’ve thought that an October wedding would have been such a warm day. It was hot and muggy, so we tried to get through the outdoor pictures quickly so everyone didn’t melt. But then they climbed into their limo party bus, where the air was not working very well, and melted on the way to the reception. Despite the unseasonably warm weather, the day went beautifully. Everyone we met was so nice and fun to be around. And we got to see a couple familiar faces – one of my May 2006 grooms, Sean (Hi Angie! We missed you!), and his brother, Ian, who was in the wedding. It was such a nice wedding and SO organized. Rachael is the queen of spreadsheets and had everything for the wedding laid out in perfect order. 🙂 She’s one of the most organized brides I’ve ever worked with, sending me lots of information before the big day so I would know exactly what would take place. It was wonderful! 🙂 There are so many wonderful pictures from their day that I want to share, but here are just a few that caught my eye today as I was looking through them. Slideshow coming soon with more highlights!

Congratulations! Have a wonderful honeymoon!

heather’s bridal shower • 9.22.07

My sister-in-law is getting married soon (I am so excited to be their photographer!) and my daughter Chloe and I went to a bridal shower for her a couple weeks ago. It was a lot of fun! Here are some pictures from the day:

the bride with her soon-to-be mother-in-law, who is just the sweetest lady ever. 🙂

mother of the bride (and my wonderful mother-in-law!)

i seriously loved this salad so much that I went back for seconds! yum!

shower game time!

jeff arrived in time to help open gifts

the little girls in the wedding are so cute. this is the groom’s niece. and I’m biased about the other little girl in the wedding, who just happens to be my little Chloe. 🙂

chloe made a new friend …

… and they were thrilled when Jeff’s mom gave them a special gift.
Chloe doesn’t look very thrilled, but she really was.

Can’t wait for the wedding! 🙂

We decided on South Haven for Laura and Steve’s engagement session. They came in from Chicago for the day and it was the perfect spot. It was the first time any of us had been there and we were all really happy with the decision. A nice beach, the lighthouse pier, lots of cool boats moving through the channel. Laura and Steve were so great, so natural and easy to photograph, and so nice to talk to. I’m really looking forward to their wedding next fall. 🙂 Here are some pictures from our evening at South Beach and Riverside Park.
