A huge thank you to all the couples and families who I have worked with since I began this photography business in 2004. It has been wonderful working with all of you and making so many friends through my work.

Brides Michigan Magazine

Something exciting arrived in my mailbox a couple weeks ago. The latest issue of Brides Michigan Magazine with one of my favorite 2008 weddings featured – Lesley and Anthony. Their wedding was just beautiful and we had a wonderful time with them. They are the sweetest couple and their families are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I was so flattered when Brides Magazine contacted me about featuring their wedding and I’m excited to finally see it in print. I scanned the cover, the contents page with one of their first dance pictures, and the feature page to share with you. And congrats to Lesley and Anthony for having their big day published. 🙂

baby grady

Amidst my fall ’08 weddings, my dear friend (and often wedding assistant), Heidi, had her sweet baby boy, Grady, and I squeezed in a little time one morning to take a few pictures of him. He is such a cutie pie and much bigger now since these were taken last October when he was only a week old. Finally sharing them here. Enjoy! 🙂

Baby toes … my favorite!

Three generations!

happy new year everyone!

I have been extremely blessed to work with wonderful couples and families in 2008. I’ve shared with them as they joined their lives, celebrated an engagement, welcomed a baby (or babies in the case of my cousin who had twins), adopted a child, prepared for high school graduation. It’s the stories that mean so much to me and I feel so honored that so many of you have invited me to capture these moments for you.

This might take a bit to load, but I’ve put together a little slideshow of highlights from 2008.

I’m looking forward to what 2009 holds. Hopefully I’ll see many of you again and make many new friends in the new year.

Happy New Year!
Kris

Pieter, Max and Ellie | saint joseph michigan children photographer

In November, I met up with these amazing kids at Kiwanis Park in Saint Joseph. The pictures were a surprise for their dad for Christmas, so I’ve been holding off posting anything until after the holidays just in case. I LOVED hanging out with these guys and just following them around for an hour or so letting them be themselves and do their thing. Pieter is awesome with his skateboard, Max is a soccer lover and Ellie is a little gymnast with all her cartwheels and jumps. We wandered around the park with all its beautiful fall colors and took a ton of fun photos. Here is a slideshow with a bunch of my favorites.

merry christmas

It’s here! Christmas Eve is upon us and soon my husband will crack open the laptop and we’ll sit with our kids and track Santa. Then we’ll tuck them in their beds, all cozy and warm, and read them the Christmas story from the Bible. Then I’ll scramble around the house to get the gifts wrapped. Nothing like procrastinating until the last possible moment, right?

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful day surrounded by all the people you love.

wedding announcement cards

Something I’ve been doing for a couple years now is making these cute little announcement cards for all of the weddings I shoot. They have a link inviting the couple’s family and friends to view their pictures online. This link leads them to a little custom webpage that I put together for all my couples. I design the cards in Photoshop using one of their engagement pictures (or a picture they email me if they don’t do an engagement session with me) and I customize the color to match their wedding colors. Everyone loves these and they blend right in with the other wedding decor. 🙂 Thought I would share some pictures for all my potential brides out there.

Here are a couple of the guests at one of my ’07 weddings checking out the cards. 🙂

thankful

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent the day at my parents house and had a delicious meal and lots of fun and laughter. Then we went over to Jake’s parents and hung out with his family for a couple hours before coming home, where I am now back to work again. There is a whole list of things I’m thankful for today over on my family blog.

Here are a few pictures of my family. My mom always likes to do the family picture by the tree every year for her Christmas card, so I set up the tripod. These are the photos we took after we got the happy smiling shot for Mom.
