Here’s a little slideshow with more pictures from Bonnie and Kyle’s engagement session last week!

sarah + joel • engagement | holland michigan photographer

This session was probably the most fun I’ve had taking pictures in a long time. It was special to me because my cousin Joel and his fiancee came up from Indiana to visit and we went to the beach at Holland State Park for these pictures. It was a beautiful day! Very windy and warm. We had a blast! They are so cute together and so in love. It was wonderful to be a part of that and spend some time with them. We all love Sarah and are so happy she’ll be part of our family now! Here are a few:

FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at those eyes!

It’s all good!

elizabeth anne designs • library

Came across Elizabeth Anne Designs through Aletha’s Pearls Events blog. They have just launched this wonderful library resource for brides listing tons of vendors across the country. Ami and Rebekah were kind enough to list me among the michigan photographers so I wanted to return the favor here on my blog. They also have a new review site, where clients can comment on the services of their vendors. If you’re an APW bride, feel free to visit their site and leave me some love. 😉

bonnie + kyle • engagement | muskegon engagement photographer

Took a drive to Muskegon last Monday to meet up with Bonnie and Kyle for their engagement session. We went to P.J. Hoffmaster Park and fought off the mosquitos on our walk through the woods then headed down to the beach just in time for the beautiful sunset. The light was just gorgeous. We had a fun time chatting about their upcoming October wedding! Here are a few favorites:

Can’t wait for the wedding!

CHA 2008

Spent last weekend in Chicago with some of my scrapbooking friends from the Heather Ann Designs design team. It was my first time meeting these girls and they were just as I thought they would be. So nice and genuine and as in love with telling our stories through photography and scrapbooking as I am.

While there, we attended the Craft and Hobby Association trade show at the convention center. I don’t know how many of you who read this blog are into scrapbooking, but let me just say that there are some amazing new products coming out this year. I am actually more of a digital scrapbooker now, but the paper supplies were not lost on me. I will always LOVE paper products.

We also attended a wonderful breakfast hosted by Shutterfly and had the privilege of listening to Mike MacDonald share some of his nature photography and give us a little talk. I haven’t really gotten that into nature photography, but his work is beautiful and his words inspired me to stop and look at my surroundings and pay a little closer attention to my composition. It’s always inspiring to hear someone speak about something they’re so passionate about. He was overflowing with love for photography. I feel the same way!

outta here again!

I’m gone a lot this month, huh? I leave tomorrow for CHICAGO!!!! Meeting up with some friends there for a few days!
I will be back Monday. If you need to reach me while I’m gone, please email me or leave me a voicemail at 616.822.7586. I promise to share some pictures of my recent getaways when I get back. Here’s one from the bay in Petoskey.

Have a wonderful weekend! I know I will!

happy 4th of July. I’m outta here!

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. I’m off for a few days with the girls to recuperate from my busy May/June, but I will return to work on July 10th. Please feel free to email me or call 616.822.7586 and leave a voicemail while I’m gone. I’ll get back to you on Thursday!

I just have to say that the weddings I have been a part of this year so far have been so wonderful. I’m getting so excited for 2009 weddings already and I’m not even through 2008 yet! Now is the best time to book for your ’09 wedding, by the way, especially if your date is in June because my June always fills up pretty far in advance. And don’t forget about Valentine’s Day 2009 being on a Saturday. That will be a hot date, too.

Ok, I’m off. Be back Thursday. 🙂

janna + dan • wedding slideshow

It usually takes me about a week after the sneak peek (which I posted yesterday) to put the slideshow together, but I really wanted to get this posted before the holiday weekend since I’ll be out of town for most of next week with my mom for a much needed girls getaway. 🙂

So here is Janna and Dan’s highlights slideshow. There are so many more pictures that I wanted to share but it was only a 4 minute song. Absolutely loved everything about this wedding! 🙂 Enjoy!

My last wedding of June was one I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time. I met Janna in the fall of 2006 when she did all the flowers for Lindsey’s wedding reception. She did a beautiful job and when we got together last year to talk about her wedding and she told me she would be doing the flowers along with some florist friends, I just knew it was going to be awesome. Was I wrong? No way! Beautiful, bright, fun flowers and details. Gorgeous bride, handsome groom, wonderful family, fun bridal party. A photographer could not ask for anything more. I am so happy for Janna and Dan. Here are a few (ok, more than a few!!!) favorites from their wedding.

The girls really did up the reception hall, Ever After, here in Hastings, with all the fun, colorful details. I thought what they did with the cake table was very unique.

LOVED all the flowers!!!

A sweet moment during the vows. I started tearing up, too. They’re such a sweet couple.

Congratulations, Janna and Dan! Hope you’re having a fabulous time on your honeymoon in St. Lucia! 🙂
