christina + alex • in their own words

I’m so excited to share another one of these. I absolutely love getting the couples thoughts on the pictures. Christina and Alex’s wedding was so classy and stylish. I loved the colors (brown and green) and all the cool details. And they are such a great couple, such nice people. Here are some of their favorites in Christina’s words:

from the engagement session:

“We were so cold that day, and Alex was trying his hardest to warm me up… I like that we weren’t meaning to pose, and that our smiles are so genuine. To us, this pose is both romantic and fun.”

“It is a great candid moment that shows both of our personalities so well. Alex is always trying to be the goofball, and as usual I’m laughing at him :). Plus we love that we were in the sand next to the water. I’ve been going to the Grand Haven beach since I was a baby, and there was no better place to have our engagement pictures taken, even if it was freezing!”

from the wedding:

“I remember that moment vividly- I was both excited and nervous for the ceremony to start, and I was taking in everything that was going on around me. And I also remember that I could barely breathe because my dress was so tight!”

“My two best friends had met each other for the first time that weekend, and this photo is really meaningful to me. Anne was a little upset about a situation that happened while setting up the church, and it means a lot to me that Amber was there to give her some support.”

“As soon as I saw this picture, the moment came right back to me. My dad had not seen me (or my dress) until the moment before he walked me down the aisle. The minute he saw me, he lost it. I was trying to calm him a little because we only had a second before we walked down the aisle. This photo captures that moment perfectly.”

“This picture is so cute! Will is my first nephew, so of course he is the cutest baby ever! 🙂 And he’s always got a smile on his face like this one. Because our family was so busy that day, he was only at the wedding for a short time. He looks so handsome in his little suspenders, which were brown of course… my sister bought them especially to match the rest of the wedding party :)”

“This was one of the most meaningful moments of the night. Poor Alex- he’s usually all smiles, but the day of our wedding he was having a hard time keeping it together! He was especially moved by his best friend’s speech- Brent is a really close friend of his, and we were both very honored to have him as the best man.”

These are the types of moments only a real photographer can capture – when they’re least expected. If I get remarried – I only hope I can find a photographer as good as you (or pay for you to come to Virginia) 🙂
