it’s blah here in Michigan today. chilly. rainy. overcast. it makes me long for the warmth of summer, or at least a trip to Florida. last year in March, I spent a week in Florida with a friend of mine whose parents are snowbirds. it was glorious and warm and beautiful. I love Florida and have been many times. so, I thought I would share some pictures from the trip last year in hopes of taking away the chills I have right now.

and what’s better after a long day at the beach than a mocha frappuccino!

this is me being silly, all sandy and sunburned and happy.

And on a wedding note, if you are getting married in Florida, I love to travel and would be more than happy to come down and shoot your wedding! Contact me for more information on pricing and travel fees for destination weddings.

Some of you know that I love to scrapbook and one of my favorite scrapbookers, Ali Edwards, has been working hard to earn money for Autism Speaks. Her son, Simon, was diagnosed with autism when he was three, so this is a cause that is very close to her heart.
SixDegrees.org is a site started by Kevin Bacon based on the popular “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” game. Anyone can create a badge for any charity they want. The six badges that have the most number of donations between January 18th and March 31st will get a matching grant from Kevin Bacon. It’s pretty cool and Ali has had a lot of people give through the badge she created (in the sidebar to the right). So I thought I would put it up here in the hopes of raising more money for this cause. Please give if you feel led by clicking on the link in the sidebar.
Thanks!

finishing up Jeff + Becky’s pictures this week and I came across a few more I wanted to share.
[ love this shot of Hannah getting her hair done ]

[ the girls got their hair done at Becky’s cousin’s. every time I lifted my camera to take a picture, their cutie dog was right there in my face. must have liked the big lens or something.]

[ this was such a sweet moment. Becky’s son came in the room after he was all dressed in his tux and she got a little teary eyed. ]

[ a few more details ]

What an honor …

What is it? The grace ormonde Five Star Platinum List is a “by invitation only†listing directory of the most unique wedding professionals nationwide. And I am so honored to be included among them in 2007, one of only two photographers listed in Michigan. 🙂

So excited to launch my new site design today. I’ve worked very hard on it for the past month or so and did all the design myself. A long process, but I am happy with the results.

I loved being a part of Lindsey & Kevin’s wedding reception. They got married in Puerto Rico and had their reception a few weeks later here in Michigan. I’ve gotten to know Lindsey over the past year and a half or so since she first hired me for the wedding and she even assisted me at a couple weddings last year, which was so much fun. It’s such a blessing to make new friends because of my work. 🙂 Here are a few of Lindsey & Kevin’s favorites in their own words:
“I remember this moment so well because I was so excited and so nervous for Kevin to see me for the first time. I loved how everything came together so perfectly and was so excited that he loved it to.”

“I love this picture because I just remember being so happy that this day had finally come and how excited we were to celebrate with all our friends and family. The fall colors that day were perfect and we were so glad we were able to walk around town. Oh, and Kevin especially loves #105 because “it’s just good”.”

#105

“Just one of the many little details that you captured so perfectly. You captured all the small things about the day so beautifully and helped make this unforgettable for us.”

“There were so many of these amazing pictures of our family and friends. It was wonderful to see these moments and we will treasure these forever as will our family and friends.”

“The end of our first dance! We were so excited and happy that we made it through our first dance and (for the most part) had successfully remembered the choreography. We had such a great time dancing this.”

“We love this picture because it was just a quiet moment for us and it captures the love that we have for one another so well.”
