Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. Taking a long weekend … be back to work Tuesday!

Finally catching up on things since my week away. Wedding season starts very soon for me. Looking forward to getting back into it. Things will kick off for me on April 15th with a fun engagement session at the beach – crossing our fingers for nice weather and a spring warm up before then.

In the meantime, I’m trying to get everything ready and improve on some of the things I did last year. New albums, fun slideshows for the blog, new products – all things that are floating around in my brain these days. More to come.

By the way, if you are a past client of mine, feel free to email me with your “in their own words” pictures any time. I’ve still got some left to post and I’d love to have a few of your favorites shots from weddings, engagements, family pictures, etc. along with your thoughts on each picture. I really want to hear why you love an image, the reason it means something to you. Thanks!

Added a new holiday banner to my business site. I use Adobe Photoshop CS for all my photo editing and design. For this banner, I chose eraser and used one of the brushes to make the rough border and the “peace” brush is from Rhonna Farrer’s digital kit available here.

Photoshop is a lot of fun. You just have to play around and see what you can do with it.

Made this cute Christmas card for a family whose pictures I took in September.

Such a cute family and so nice. I had a great time taking their pictures. Lots of laughter. They are fun people. The girls were the cutest. The oldest was posing so much, she looked like a mannequin and we were cracking up at her. Her Dad tickled her at one point and I got a really nice picture of her – the real her. I could see that “picture smile” disappear if only for a moment and I snapped away. The image on the left is her posed smile and on the right is just as her dad was tickling her.

I love both pictures. They are equally good. You can just see the difference and I love that. I love that I get to capture real moments.
