happy new year everyone!

I have been extremely blessed to work with wonderful couples and families in 2008. I’ve shared with them as they joined their lives, celebrated an engagement, welcomed a baby (or babies in the case of my cousin who had twins), adopted a child, prepared for high school graduation. It’s the stories that mean so much to me and I feel so honored that so many of you have invited me to capture these moments for you.

This might take a bit to load, but I’ve put together a little slideshow of highlights from 2008.

I’m looking forward to what 2009 holds. Hopefully I’ll see many of you again and make many new friends in the new year.

Pieter, Max and Ellie | saint joseph michigan children photographer

In November, I met up with these amazing kids at Kiwanis Park in Saint Joseph. The pictures were a surprise for their dad for Christmas, so I’ve been holding off posting anything until after the holidays just in case. I LOVED hanging out with these guys and just following them around for an hour or so letting them be themselves and do their thing. Pieter is awesome with his skateboard, Max is a soccer lover and Ellie is a little gymnast with all her cartwheels and jumps. We wandered around the park with all its beautiful fall colors and took a ton of fun photos. Here is a slideshow with a bunch of my favorites.

Isn’t my nephew handsome? He was just a little guy when Jake and I got married (he was our ring bearer way back then) and look at him now! The photo session I had planned for Sunday, October 5th in St. Joseph has now been changed to Holland. I still have availability for a few more sessions that evening, so please contact me. chicago (area) sessions • sunday, sept 28th

I’m really excited to visit some friends in Naperville, Illinois at the end of this month. On our last day there, I am taking some family pictures for my friend Heather at the Riverwalk in Naperville and I am available to do a couple more sessions that morning before we head back to Michigan.

I had so much fun taking pictures of Tom on Sunday evening. His family lives on beautiful property and we took advantage of it. The leaves are just beautiful right now and the light was so nice coming through the trees. Here are a few favorites:






The football team made it to the playoffs this year and they bring along the “spirit bus” and have fun tailgate parties before the games. :)


Tom’s nephew came to visit for our session and took a little walk with his uncle. So sweet with his little matching #2. :)

I took engagement pictures for Tom’s brother, Dan, earlier this year and will also be photographing the wedding next June, so it was fun to be able to get to know some of the family ahead of time. :)
