wedding announcement cards

Something I’ve been doing for a couple years now is making these cute little announcement cards for all of the weddings I shoot. They have a link inviting the couple’s family and friends to view their pictures online. This link leads them to a little custom webpage that I put together for all my couples. I design the cards in Photoshop using one of their engagement pictures (or a picture they email me if they don’t do an engagement session with me) and I customize the color to match their wedding colors. Everyone loves these and they blend right in with the other wedding decor. :) Thought I would share some pictures for all my potential brides out there.

elizabeth anne designs • library

Came across Elizabeth Anne Designs through Aletha’s Pearls Events blog. They have just launched this wonderful library resource for brides listing tons of vendors across the country. Ami and Rebekah were kind enough to list me among the michigan photographers so I wanted to return the favor here on my blog. They also have a new review site, where clients can comment on the services of their vendors. If you’re an APW bride, feel free to visit their site and leave me some love. ;)

choosing your wedding date • valentines day

Something to keep in mind if you’re getting married in 2009 …

February 14th falls on a Saturday next year, which will make that date one of the most popular of 2009.

for my brides

When I meet with potential clients, I usually bring along at least one full set of pictures from a wedding I’ve shot so they can see how I cover the event from start to finish. Some of my weddings have been with couples who live in other states but are marrying in Michigan, so they’ve done all their planning long distance via phone and internet. Some couples I don’t even meet with until the day of the wedding. I’d love to be able to meet with every couple, but I know sometimes this isn’t an option.
