While on vacation in Florida, I was able to meet up with Dina and Andreas, whose wedding I’m shooting in Naples, FL in October.
I told them I’d be in the Orlando area for vacation with my family and we worked out a time to get together. We met in Clearwater Beach on the Gulf side of the state. Jake and I had vacationed there several years ago so I was familiar with it. Unfortunately, the cute, quaint beach town I remembered was overtaken by construction of a big hotel right in the middle of the strip. All the cute shops and restaurants were demolished to make room so it wasn’t exactly as I remembered it. But despite all that and the crowds that were there for a craft fair on the pier and for spring break, we managed to find some great spots for pictures. Dina and Andreas are the sweetest couple. So nice and easy to talk with. I’m so looking forward to their wedding and visiting Naples, which sounds really beautiful. Here are a few more from our evening together:

Thanks again, you guys! I had such a fun time with you.

I don’t normally shoot engagements in January since I work outdoors for my sessions and you never know what the weather’s going to be like in winter. But when Eric’s mom called a while ago and asked if I would be willing to shoot her son’s engagement, I was up for it. She wanted to do something special for them before Ida went back to her home in Norway at the end of this week and this was the only time we could do it. Luckily, the weather cooperated and, although we didn’t have any snow like I was sort of hoping for (crazy Michigan weather!), we got some great shots. Such a sweet couple and they both have great smiles!

working tonight. just felt like sharing this cool picture of lesley and anthony during our rainy engagement session earlier this month. it wasn’t the ideal day weather-wise, but we made the most of it and got some really wonderful pictures.
The weather for today’s engagement session was the complete opposite of last night’s. It was rainy and dreary and we got soaked, but Lesley and Anthony were so awesome to wander around through the rain with me. And we got some awesome pictures!! It was so great meeting them and Lesley’s family (we did some family pictures, too). A very fun day!! Here are a few favorites:

We decided on South Haven for Laura and Steve’s engagement session. They came in from Chicago for the day and it was the perfect spot. It was the first time any of us had been there and we were all really happy with the decision. A nice beach, the lighthouse pier, lots of cool boats moving through the channel. Laura and Steve were so great, so natural and easy to photograph, and so nice to talk to. I’m really looking forward to their wedding next fall.
Here are some pictures from our evening at South Beach and Riverside Park.
