I was so very excited for Lindsey and Kevin’s wedding reception. They were actually married in Puerto Rico earlier this month, but had this great reception planned for family and friends. Lindsey and I have become good friends over the past year and a half or so since she hired me. I shot their engagement pictures last summer at Tunnel Park in Holland and they were so fun to work with. Lindsey loves photography and even came with me to two weddings this year to assist when Heidi couldn’t. She’s a really sweet and fun person and I’m so thankful to know her and call her my friend. Without further ado …

Julie and Terry were married at the historic Lakeside Inn in Lakeside, MI. I took my husband along with me to assist for this wedding and we had a great time. We arrived on Friday evening for their rehearsal dinner at Weko Beach in Bridgman. The sun was setting as everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner catered in by Cravings, who also catered the wedding. So yummy! I don’t often photograph rehearsal dinners, so it was fun to be there and meet family members the night before the wedding. We stayed at the Inn along with Julie & Terry’s family, the bridal party and other friends and enjoyed a breakfast buffet in the morning before I started shooting the girls getting ready. I immediately fell in love with all the of the details Julie put together for this wedding. The cake, the flowers, etc. They hired some extremely talented people to help make their day perfect. I will list them at the bottom of this post after all the pictures, so … here we go! Some pictures from the wedding.

The wedding last weekend was amazing! Heidi and I had the best time. Reem & Greg are such great people and they really took care of us all day. I could go on and on about their wedding. It was a relaxed kind of day, which are always the best, full of laughter and love, family and friends from near and far (even some as far as the Middle East). We loved the whole day. I even experienced a couple of firsts for me … riding on a trolley and driving a golf cart. :) I think one of my favorite moments was when the couple was announced at the reception. The energy in the room was incredible and the guests clapped in a steady rhythm for several minutes, some even danced a bit. So, instead of going on and on … here are a few pictures from the day. I want to show them all but I will put more into a slideshow and post that soon, too. :) Here they are …

[ Beautiful Reem ]

[ lots of laughter during the ceremony ]

[ the kiss ]

[ the flowers were gorgeous ]

[ beautiful. I just had to comment on this one, too. this looks like a posed shot, but it is not. reem stood holding her flowers while the girls bustled her dress and I captured this shot. this is how I work. I am not one to pose people, it's not my style, and I will watch for shots like this throughout the day. :) ]

[ riding the trolley to the reception - so much fun! ]

[ I don't usually post many of the pictures from the family/bridal party picture time, but Reem & Greg are such a great looking couple, I couldn't resist. I love this one. Posed, but they still look relaxed and so happy. ]

[ the first dance ]

[ singing to each other. so sweet. ]

[ they even brought in belly dancers to show a little of Reem's heritage. it was really cool to watch. ]

[ love this moment. they were dancing away in a world of their own and I just happened to notice them move under the light. perfect. ]

Congratulations, Reem & Greg! Glad I didn’t run over you guys with the golf cart. :)

Back at Twin Gables in Saugatuck last weekend for Jessy & Erwyn’s wedding. I’ve got lots to share today. Wish I could show them all, there were so many fun moments. Here are a few:

Twin Gables!

Jessy was such a beautiful bride. A really pretty girl and so nice.

The top of the piano in the Common Room at Twin Gables was covered with photographs of all of their guests. I think most of them were staying right there at the inn so this was a really cool display for everyone to see.

The dress

The flower girl was so adorable. She had to show me her little Cabbage Patch doll, who was also dressed up for the big day and had a front row seat at the ceremony. :)

Seeing each other for the first time. I love how Erwyn was covering his eyes until they told him it was OK to look. So sweet.

Some details. A Hawaiian theme. Complete with dancers! Very fun.

A sweet moment during the ceremony. Looking out at all their family and friends.

These two were SOOO sweet together. Loved all the moments during their first dance.

Slideshow coming soon!
Aloha!
